Before Starting:

1. Install your printer using FULL feature solution or BASIC solution.
2. Make sure that your printer is not in an error state(Paper Jam etc)
3. If your printer front panel is unresponsive, disconnect and reconnect power, and restart.
4. If your printer is connected using a wireless connection and this update fails to install, please connect your printer to your PC with a USB cable and try again. You can switch back to using your wireless connection after the update is complete (see instructions below).

HP Device Update Steps:

1. Download the HP Device Update exe file to an appropriate location on your system.
2. Double click on the downloaded file to start the extraction and installation.
3. In Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating systems, you may be prompted to enter Administrator credentials if your login privileges do not have administrator rights. If you are an administrator, you may be prompted for permission to continue with the installation. Please select to continue the process.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to perform the installation. If you see the success screen with the following message at the end of the installation, “Device Update Successful”, press the “Close” button to finish the printer update.

CAUTION! Do not interrupt the printer during the upgrade process. Printer may be damaged if power is interrupted during the firmware upgrade process.

Note: If your printer was originally installed using wireless connection and you switched to a USB connection to install this update, follow these steps to change the “Default Printer” setting to restore the wireless connection as the default printer.

1. Navigate to the operating system “Printers” or “Devices and Printers” folder (varies based on your operating system).
2. Right-click on the printer you would like to set as default printer. Select the “Set as default printer” option.
3. (Optional) Additionally, you can delete the printer icon for the USB printer connection you created. The additional icon for the USB connection to the printer will not harm your system, but will not be a functional connection for your printer unless you leave the USB cable connected. To delete, find the printer icon connected through USB in the “Printers” or “Devices and Printers” folder. Right-click on the printer icon and select “Delete”. Please make sure that your wireless connected printer is working before deleting the USB printer icon.

• Prior to installing this update, the printer for which this update is targeted must be installed using either the full software solution or the basic solution.

HP ePrint Software for Network and Wireless Connected Printers

Description:
HP ePrint Software makes it easy to print from a desktop or laptop PC to any HP ePrinter. You can easily print your digital content wirelessly to supported HP printers on a local wireless network (Wi-Fi), HP printer enabled Wireless or WiFi Direct, or over the wired LAN. Additionally, you can print to your HP ePrint-enabled printer via the cloud at home, the office, or on-the-go, whenever the printer is connected to the Internet. You can even print to thousands of HP ePrint Public Print Locations worldwide.

Fix and enhancements:

• Corrected a failure to update user credentials when printing to ePrint Enterprise using a static ePrint print queue.
• Fixed a defect where a job goes to an error state when printing wireless direct.

Installation instructions:

Reference the System Requirements to confirm your mobile device meets the Windows or Mac OS requirements for install.

Download the file to your computer:

1. Click on the Download button.
2. In the File Download box select Save.
3. In the Save As window choose a directory to save the file in and click Save.
4. When the file download has completed, select Open Folder.
5. Double click on the file to launch the installer. If the system is upgrading from a previous release, the installer will remove the older version and require a system reboot. Following reboot, relaunch the installer to complete the upgrade to the new version.
6. Follow the simple steps to complete the installation. If the system was upgraded, the user will have to re-register the ePrint Software with www.hpconnected.com to access web connected printers.

Note: Before you discover wireless direct printers, your HP product must have setup and be enabled for wireless direct network connectivity. Not every HP wireless capable product support Wireless Direct.

How to Install HP Photosmart 6510 Printer – B211e Driver Download
